Configuring Cloud Agent

You configure Cloud Agent to set up the connectivity between EcoStruxure Building Operation and Building Advisor Portal.

Cloud Agent Software Administrator installs three components:

  • Cloud Agent

  • Cloud Certificate Agent

  • Update Agent

Cloud Agent securely transfers data from EcoStruxure Building Operation to Building Advisor.

Components

This feature consists of four separate software components:

  • Cloud Agent Software Administrator : Helps you configure the connection.

  • Cloud Agent : Connects EcoStruxure Building Operations with the cloud.

  • Cloud Certificate Agent : Manages the certificates that all three agents use to encrypt their communication.

  • Update Agent : Periodically checks for updates of all three agents and can be configured to update them automatically.

Cloud Agent Software Administrator is installed together with EcoStruxure Building Operation 7.0.3 and later. The other three agents are installed when you run Cloud Agent Software Administrator.

Installation considerations

Some general points to consider regarding the installation:

  • Install Cloud Agent on the Enterprise Server or Automation Server at the top of your system tree. If your system has an Enterprise Central server, install Cloud Agent on the Enterprise Central and the servers directly below it in the system tree.

  • You need Windows administrator privileges to run the Cloud Agent installer.

  • You need access to the Building Advisor Portal during installation.

  • You need an admin account during installation. The installer creates a new user account in EcoStruxure Building Operations that Cloud Agent uses to access the system.

  • Cloud Agent works with EcoStruxure Building Operations version 3.2 or later.

  • Starting with EcoStruxure Building Operations version 7.0.3, Cloud Agent Software Administrator is included in the server installation.

To configure Cloud Agent
  1. Run Cloud Agent Software Administrator as administrator.

  2. Read the information and click Next .

  3. Select I accept the terms of the License Agreement and then click Next .

  4. Enter the admin password for EcoStruxure Building Operation, select the communication protocol and the port, and then click Next .

  5. If there is an old Cloud Agent installation, click Remove installed agents .

  6. Click Next .

  7. If you connect to the Internet via a proxy, enter the address of the proxy server.

  8. Click Test Connection .

  9. Click Next .

  10. If you have not generated a token, click BA site to open Building Advisor in a browser.

  11. In the Token box, paste the token from Building Advisor and click Next .

  12. Click Install .

  13. When the installer finishes, click Close .
