License Activation Server, sometimes called FNO server, is a server controlled by Schneider Electric globally to manage the activation of licenses. License Activation Server is used for both Centralized Licensing and for licenses administered by License Administrator.
The License Activation Server handles activation, reclaiming, and returning of licenses. License Activation Server cannot be installed, uninstalled or managed by the user of a EcoStruxure Building Management System.
When using Centralized licensing, Device Administrator communicates directly with License Activation Server.
When using licensing administrated by License Administrator the costumer’s License Server communicates with the License Activation Server.
When activating a license, the License Administrator on the receiving computer requests and administrates the activation.

The activated licenses are available on the License Server. Before the License Server can distribute the licenses, the License Server has to be restarted.
