HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH

  • Disconnect all line voltage connected to the IP-IO module and its relay outputs before working on the device.

  • More than one disconnect switch may be required to de-energize this equipment before servicing.

  • Connect only devices with safe extra low voltage equipment (SELV/PELV) inputs/outputs to the IP-IO module universal inputs/outputs.

Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Notice

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

Before powering up the IP-IO module, ensure that the input power polarity is correct, the voltage level meets the specifications of the module, and the terminal blocks are plugged into the correct connector headers on the module.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.

Smoke Control Application Notes

All ports on the IP-IO models are power-limited except the relay outputs. For more information on the use of the SMK models for a UL 864 application, see the latest version of the EcoStruxure Building Management - Smoke Control System Design Guide (04-16014-XX-en).

The USB ports are not approved for UL 864 applications and must therefore remain unused.

The power input is marked 24 VAC and 24-30 VDC but 24 VAC is the only approved power input voltage for UL 864 applications.

A 6.4 mm (0.25 in.) spacing is required between power-limited circuits and nonpower-limited circuits. You must not have adjacent relay outputs switching nonpower-limited circuit on one and power-limited circuit on the other. When relay switching of both circuit types is required, an unused DO must separate them. The high-power relay output separately achieves required spacing and can be used with either circuit regardless of other relay usage.
