Downloading License Information

You download the license information file to be able to send the information on the licenses that is to be reclaimed.

This step must be done a computer that is connected to Internet.

Reclaiming licenses is the process of making sure that the licenses are updated with the latest information.

This is typically done when expanding a license subscription.

Reclaim Licenses on EcoStruxure BMS Servers

Device Administrator is used to reclaim licenses installed on EcoStruxure BMS servers.

Online reclaim

In the online case the computer that runs Device Administrator is connected to the Internet.

Online reclaim on a semi online system

A special case is semi online system where the EcoStruxure BMS server is not connected to Internet, but Devices Administrator is connected to Internet. A semi online system is treated as an online system for licensing purposes.

Offline reclaim

In the offline case the computer that runs Device Administrator and the EcoStruxure BMS servers are not connected to the Internet.

Use this workflow to reclaim licenses on EcoStruxure BMS servers that are not connected to Internet.

Reclaim Licenses for Some Editors and Clients

License Administrator is used to reclaim licenses on some editors and clients.

To download license information

  1. In Device Administrator, click Servers .

  2. Select Show Licenses .

  3. Select the EcoStruxure BMS servers.

  4. Click Reclaim .

  5. Click Download license information .

  6. Click OK .

  7. In the Device information field, browse to the file with the gatheried server information that was generated in the previous procedure.

  8. In the License information field, browse to the location where you want to download license information file.

  9. Click Download .

  10. Click Close .

Move the license information file to a computer that runs Device Administrator and is connected to Internet.
