Concept

You must install most of the controls products listed here in an enclosure that meets the following minimum criteria. After the criteria, several specific enclosure models are listed as examples of enclosures that meet the minimum criteria you can use for the smoke control system.

Concept

Using the power rating for each of the modules (listed in the following table), accumulate the power consumed by the Smoke Control Server and Central IO modules. The PS-24V can supply up to 30W (~1.25A at 24 VDC). The 24 VDC from the PS-24V is delivered to all modules connecting on the bus on the right side of the PS-24V up to the next power supply module. You must add another PS-24V on the I/O bus to keep the load on the previous power supply at 30W or below.

Concept

This manual is intended for use by qualified, authorized engineers and technicians who are responsible for meeting a UL 864 project specification. The specification, created by the smoke control system designer, should have already considered the selected mechanical equipment design. Proper duct sizing and layout, motor/blower selection, and damper selection must be completed by the smoke control system designer to provide the planned smoke control pressurization under all possible expected environmental (for example, wind and weather) and building (such as door, elevator hoistway, leakage, system response, stairwell, and occupied mode) conditions.

Concept

In addition to the MP controllers and the b3 and MNB families of BACnet MS/TP controllers, the EcoStruxure smoke control system also supports the proprietary Infinet i2 family of controllers when connected to the AS-P-SMK smoke control server. The AS-P-SMK and AS-P-NLS-SMK Servers provide integrated support for the Infinet i2 controllers and has been part of the UL864 system listing since evaluation in 2018.

Concept

The EcoStruxure smoke control system supports the MP controllers and IP-IO modules mentioned previously in this guide.

Concept

EcoStruxure Building Management for smoke control includes a wide variety of hardware controllers, Central IO modules, and a family of software products. EcoStruxure Building Operation refers to the software running in the Smoke Control Servers, Enterprise Servers, Report Servers and Workstations. The EcoStruxure BMS is an integrated solution for building management that combines environmental control, energy management, energy monitoring/metering, alarm management, security and reporting. The system can be customized for building management applications extending from small office buildings to skyscrapers and office, school, or industrial campus environments.

Concept

The HVAC system manages the operation of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment serving the controlled spaces within a facility.

Concept

The tables that follow provide a summary of all the equipment models you can interconnect to form the smoke control system.
