Use the Save Object dialog box to save an object to the system.
You make one of the objects in the context configuration primary. This makes it possible to add child objects with relative path bindings to the primary object. Consequently, when mapping an object to the template in a dynamic XLSX report, properties of child objects to the mapped object is shown in the report as well.
You make the binding of a child object relative to the primary object, so that when mapping an object to the template in a dynamic XLSX report, properties of the corresponding child object to the mapped object can be shown in the report.
You make an object primary to enable the binding of child objects relative to the primary object. Additionally, the binding data to the primary object is automatically cleared when using the template in a report.
Use the Generate Report Settings dialog box to generate report with time range parameters.
You use a dynamic XLSX template object when you want to configure a report template for one or several object types using a spreadsheet editor installed on your computer, for example Microsoft Excel. The dynamic XLSX template is not bound to a specific report or object, only to object types. However, you often use the context of one or more specific object instances as blueprints during template configuration to preview real data.
Dynamic XLSX reports and templates combine to enhance flexibility when creating XLSX reports for object data. The dynamicity comes from the ability to configure templates for one or several object types without binding the templates to specific reports or objects. Once you have the templates for the object types you need, making a report is no more difficult than to create a dynamic XLSX report object, add the objects you need a report on and map them to the corresponding template based on their type. Another option is to create the report ad hoc from the context menu by right-clicking on any object in your system.
Use the Dynamic XLSX Report tab to generate reports and configure which objects to map to which dynamic XLSX templates.
Use the Dynamic Template Configuration tab to choose which object types can be mapped to the template.
