By adding a variety of I/O and power supply modules, you can use the SmartX AS-P server or Automation Server to tailor the Intelligent Building Management System to your unique requirements.
The UI-16 I/O module is a universal input, 16-channel I/O module. Each channel has a dedicated status two-color LED that provides local monitoring of digital, counter, and supervised input types. The front panel shows the module status LED and the I/O channel status LEDs.
Input modules support a single electrical type, such as digital or universal inputs. The available input modules include the following:
This section outlines the recommended cables and wires, specifying the appropriate wire sizes and lengths for the Central IO modules.
An Automation Server is a Schneider Electric manufactured embedded device that generally serves as the lowest tier EcoStruxure BMS server within the EcoStruxure BMS. The Automation Server controls and supervises equipment, typically HVAC equipment. The Automation Server uses I/O modules with connected field devices, such as sensors and actuators, to do that.
The EcoStruxure Building Operation software supports the major communication protocols in building automation and security management.
The wiring recommendations provide guidance regarding wiring of the I/O modules, SmartX servers, and MP Series controllers.
You can wire a terminal base prior to installing an electronics module.
The terminal bases are used for SmartX devices that are based on the patented two-piece design. The terminal base provides the I/O bus to the electronics module installed on the terminal base as well as to the SmartX device installed to the right (next terminal base in the chain).
The Status LED on the front of the SmartX devices changes color and flashes to indicate the status of the device.
