This application note provides recommendations and guidelines for the RS-485 interface port configuration between the automation server and generic RS-485 network devices (Modbus or MS/TP). This information is intended to supplement the instructions you receive with the various RS-485 network devices. The guidelines focus on the arrangement of the electrical interface to the automation server's RS-485 port in regards to biasing, termination, cable selection, cable lengths, and cable routing. The guidelines on maximum unit load (node count) and common mode voltage tolerance are associated with AS-P and AS-B servers.
This configuration is recommended if the following conditions apply to the RS-485 network and the devices to be connected to the automation server's RS-485 port:
For security reasons, the default configuration for WebStation is, for example, not to allow external content to be embedded.
Use the Security Manager options on Control Panel to increase the security of your system.
Use the System security settings tab to increase the security.
You can configure the security for WebStation using WorkStation.
You disable the TimescaleDB connection for all servers that are supposed to have a connection to the database you are backing up and/or restoring to make sure you are working with the correct database.

You import a backup set from WorkStation to replace a lost or incomplete backup set, or to add a backup set to a new EcoStruxure BMS server. The EcoStruxure Building Operation software stores a local backup set for an Enterprise Server or automation servers under the Local folder in the Backup Sets folder. However, the system handles the storage of backup sets based on the type of EcoStruxure BMS server. For example, an automation server stores only one backup set at a time. Therefore, the system overwrites the previous backup file with the latest file. If there is no file present, the EcoStruxure Building Operation software adds the backup set to the Local folder.
The write to file notification is written to a text file or to an XLSX file when the configured notification condition is met.
