One of the cornerstones of the EcoStruxure BMS is support for open standards. As a result, the RP and MP controllers comply with the BACnet open standard, one of the most popular standards for buildings.
The RP and MP controllers can natively communicate with BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, or MS/TP networks. When the RP and MP controllers are part of an EcoStruxure BMS, the BACnet protocol is used for communication between the devices and their parent EcoStruxure BMS server and other BACnet devices on the network, including controllers. As native BACnet devices, the RP and MP controllers support BACnet services such as trends, schedules, and alarms, and the controllers can communicate with other BACnet devices on a BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, or MS/TP network. The RP and MP controllers conform to the BACnet Advanced Application Controller (B-AAC) device profile, and for BACnet/SC applications the controllers act as BACnet/SC nodes.
