You configure RP controller expansion blind and light power modules to enable supply and control of both motorized blinds and shutters and lights equipped with electrical ballasts.

You configure the RP controller expansion multi-sensors to detect infrared motion and measure luminosity levels and RP controller expansion relay modules to use with lighting control modules that do not support power distribution.

To configure RPcontroller expansion modules
  1. In WorkStation, in the  System Tree  pane, expand the RP controller and then click Room Bus .

  2. In the List View , select the RP controller expansion module you want.

  3. On the File menu, click  Properties .

  4. Click the Basic  tab.

  5. Edit the Basic properties.

    Modbus address

Displays the Modbus address of the module on the room bus.

    Status

Displays Offline when communication is disrupted between the RP controller and RP controller expansion modules.

    Diagnostic flags

Displays a diagnostic flag when a Module type mismatch, Firmware upgrade failure, or crash report has been detected. For more information, see RP Controller Expansion Module Diagnostics .

    Model name

Displays the model name of the RP controller expansion module.

    Firmware version

Displays the firmware version of the RP controller expansion module.

    Hardware version

Displays the hardware version of the RP controller expansion module.

    Serial number

Displays the serial number of the RP controller expansion module.

    Firmware upgrade

Displays Failed when the RP controller expansion module upgrade is unsuccessful.

    Uptimes (s)

Displays the amount of time the module has been up and running.

    Property

    Description

    Object ID

Displays the BACnet object type and the instance number of the module.

    BACnet name

View the name of the BACnet object or type a new name to change the name.

If you plan on using the Commission mobile application to commission RP controller expansion modules, it is recommended that you use short names for the module and the point. The Commission mobile application reads the BACnet name, which is ModuleName_PointName by default. If module and object names combined exceed 32 characters, then the BACnet name may be difficult to read from the Commission mobile application unless you manually change the BACnet name.

    BACnet type

    Displays the type: structured view.

    Profile name

Displays the unique name of the profile that describes the characteristics of the object, such as additional properties, behaviors, or requirements.

    Log level

Select the trace logging level for the module.

    Status LED mode

Select Status LED mode to display LED status including the following states:

    • Steady green: normal

    • Green with 2 second red flicker: normal but past error logged

    • Green flashing: normal. For more information, see RP Controller Expansion Module LEDs .

    • Red flashing or constant: not operational

Select Off should you not want to display LED status.

To perform a room bus module I/O checkout
  1. In the Commission mobile application, click I/O Checkout .

  2. On the I/O Resources page, click Room Bus Modules .

  3. View the status of the individual RP controller expansion modules:
