RJ45 Pinout for the RS-485 Port(s) of the RP-C Controllers

This section provides the RJ45 pinout for the RP-C controllers' RS-485 port(s).

The number of RS-485 ports with RJ45 interface and the RJ45 pinout differ between the different controller models.

Regarding the differences in the set of RS-485 ports and RJ45 pinout, the RP-C models can be divided into the following three categories:

  • Models with “-F” in the product name:

    RP-C-12A-F-24V, RP-C-12B-F-24V, RP-C-12C-F-24V, RP-C-16A-F-230V, RP-C-16B-F-24V, and RP-C-16B-F-230V

  • Models with “-M” in the product name:

    RP-C-12A-M-24V, RP-C-12B-M-24V, and RP-C-16A-M-24V

  • RP-C-16C-F-230V model

The RP-C models with “-F” in the product name have two RS-485 ports with RJ45 interface, which are labeled RS-485 Com A and RS-485 Com B. The RJ45 pinout differs only with regards to pin 2 between the two RS-485 ports.

Note:

For the RP-C-12A-F-24V, RP-C-12B-F-24V, RP-C-12C-F-24V, and RP-C-16A-F-230V controller models, the rating for the RS-485 Com A port, the RJ45 pinout for the RS-485 Com B port, and the labeling of the two RS-485 ports differ between different hardware versions of the controllers. The RP-C models with “-M” in the product name have one RS-485 port with RJ45 interface, which is labeled RS-485 Com A. The RJ45 pinout for this RS-485 port is the same as for the RS-485 Com A port on the other RP-C models.

The RP-C-16C-F-230V model has three RS-485 ports with RJ45 interface, which are labeled RS-485 Com A, RS-485 Com B, and RS-485 Com C.
