Temperature and Humidity Measurement
The Insight-Sensor supports temperature and humidity measurements through a single integrated circuit, consisting of a bandgap temperature sensor and a capacitive humidity sensor.
With the temperature and humidity sensor, the dew point can be calculated based on the ceiling temperature and humidity values, which are measured at the Insight-Sensor device's location in the ceiling.
Measurement of the ceiling temperature and humidity, and calculation of the dew point, is typically performed in cases of water-based ceiling cooling systems, such as systems with chilled beams. Determining the dew point can help prevent condensation and moisture problems in ceiling spaces before they cause damage.
