A triggered alarm can be automatically assigned to a specific user or user group that is most suited to correct the problem. An assigned alarm indicates to other users that someone is working with the problem that caused the alarm. The name of the user that is assigned to the alarm and the assignment status are displayed in the Alarms pane, Events pane, Alarm Views and Event Views.
You can create automatic assignments for recipients whose user accounts reside on the same SmartStruxure server as the automatic assignment.
When creating an automatic assignment, you configure the condition that needs to occur before Building Operation sends the assignment request. For example, a condition could be when any alarm in a specific category group changes its state from normal state to alarm state.
You can apply a schedule or other multistate variable to enable or disable the automatic assignment. This multistate variable could be used to assign an alarm to different users depending on the time. The variable you connect to the assignment must contain an active value greater than zero.
For example, a schedule is configured to generate the value 2 between 06:30-18:00 and the value 4 between 18:00-06:30. The schedule is connected to two assignments with the same conditions. One assignment sends an assignment request to the ordinary operator when the schedule generates value 2. The other assignment is active when the schedule generates value 4, and sends the assignment request to the night watch. If an alarm is triggered at 20:00 that fulfills the condition of the two assignments, an assign request is automatically sent to the night watch.
