Report packs contain reports. You can use report packs to upload new reports to WebReports, and to provide portability of reports from one Reports Server to another.
New reports from Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric distributes new reports using report packs. When you receive the report pack, you use WebReports and upload the report pack to deploy the new reports to your Reports Server. Once deployed to your Reports Server, you can generate and view the reports in either WorkStation or the WebReports Web site.
Portable reports
Report packs provide a convenient and portable way of adding reports to your Reports Server. For example, suppose you have a collection of reports that reside on a Reports Server in location A and you want to add the collection to a Reports Server in location B. Using the WebReports Report Pack feature, you can select the reports that you want in the report pack. You then download the report pack to a media device such as a USB drive at location A. When you arrive at location B, you can upload the report pack to deploy the reports to the Reports Server where they become available in both WorkStation and the WebReports Web site.
Report Pack Size Restrictions
There is a limitation on the size of report pack you can upload or download to and from the Reports Server. If you attempt to upload or download a report pack of file size greater than 4 MB, an error message is displayed and you cannot complete the upload or download.
Report Packs and References
If you download a report pack and then upload the report pack to a Reports Server that has a new reports database, all object references are maintained except references to extended trend logs, SmartStruxure server, and user parameters (these objects will not exist in the new system therefore the references will be incorrect). To avoid incorrect references, you can choose to exclude references to extended trend logs, SmartStruxure server, and user parameters before you upload the report pack.
