You can backup and restore licenses administrated by License Administrator. You can also relocate and replace the License Server.
Backup the license files on a regular basis. To back up the license files, copy all files in the folder to an external resource. Backups are useful if the hardware or the operating system malfunctions.

If you want to replace or relocate the License Server hardware, you must return the licenses to the License Activation Server and then activate the licenses again on the new License Server.

When you return a license administrated by License Administrator, the license is transferred from the License Server back to the License Activation Server.

If the License Server is assigned a new network address, all software that requires a license must be updated with the new address.

If you reinstall a License Server, the software licenses on the License Server are not affected. The licenses on the License Server do not have to be returned to the License Activation Server during reinstallation.

You can view information about all licenses located on the License Server in the diagnostics view in License Administrator. This information is important when troubleshooting or when you require help from product support service. You can get a log file of the license to get information regarding licenses, for example when you are troubleshooting.
