Field Server Replacement Using Restore Workflow

Use the workflow to duplicate the field server from a backup set.

Copy field server Backup Set to WorkStation

Save the most current backup set of the field server that you want to replace to WorkStation.

Add new field server to network and configure communication settings

Add the new field server to the network and configure the IP address.

Log on to field server using WorkStation

Import backup set

Import the backup set to the new field server.

Restore new field server using the imported Backup Set

Restore the new field server using the imported backup set.

For more information, see Restoring the EcoStruxure BMS Server .

Tip:

If the field server does not go online, you can manually recreate the field server or restore the connections between the Enterprise Server and the field server. For more information, see Field Server Remains Offline After Restore .

The Restore process automatically renames the field server and specifies the objects and properties that the field server uses to reestablish links and go online.
