The EcoStruxure Building Operation software version number is constructed with four numbers, which represents different parts of the version: Major, Minor, Maintenance, and Build.
Version number |
Description |
Major |
Increment when major functionality changes are released. |
Minor |
Increment when minor functionality changes are released. |
Maintenance |
Increment when correctional changes are released. |
Build |
A sequential number to guarantee uniqueness of the version release. |
When installing a product with a higher version number than what is already installed, the installation package asks you if you want to upgrade or replace your current installation. When starting an installation package with the same version number as the software that is already installed, the installation package asks you whether you want to repair or reinstall the installation.
On the same computer or server, you can install products parallel to each other that have different major or minor version numbers. For example, you can install WorkStation 2.1.6.0 on a computer that already has version 1.2.1.0 installed. You have to use different installation folders for parallel versions.
You cannot install parallel License Administrators.
You should always run the latest maintenance version of the License Administrator or License Server for your EcoStruxure Building Operation version.
The version history log contains the following information:
The EcoStruxure Building Operation versions that have been installed on the computer
The hotfix versions that have been installed on the computer
The date and time the installation was performed
The name of the Windows user account that performed the installation
The version log is created in the installation folder of each EcoStruxure Building Operation product. The name of the log file is: version_history.txt .
