Day mode

It is common practice to reduce the risk of false alarms by disabling detectors, or decreasing their sensitivity, in building areas where the normal activities create phenomena that resemble fires.

This is often done by making a disablement at the panel or with a special device, sending a disablement command to the panel. The device can, for example, be a timer switch that workers set to a number of hours, to disable a specified zone for the entered time. Although this functionality is available in the FDP system, it also introduces an automation of this action and an alternative to complete disablement.

Day mode, as the term implies, is an operational mode of the system, used during day time, where certain settings reduce the risk of a false alarm. The settings that are selectable during day mode are:

  • Disablement of selected detectors and addressable I/O modules (or addresses in general)

  • Decreased sensitivity of selected intelligent detectors

The settings are selectable individually for each address in the system.

Day mode is activated and deactivated, for example, by a contact in the central clock system, ensuring that workers do not forget to turn it on and off.
