Faults and Maintenance Alerts

Faults and maintenance alerts comprise a text and a code. They are displayed on the panel, in EcoStruxure Fire Expert, and in EcoStruxure Fire Operation.

Warning Warning

COMPROMISED FUNCTIONALITY

  • If fault 328 Factory Settings: Failed to read factory settings is displayed, abort the commissioning.

  • Do not use the panel.

  • Contact your local Customer Care Center about the fault.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.

The panel has not initialized correctly if fault 328 occurs. The message is displayed only once and does not reappear after it has been reset.

Unknown type of device

Unknown type of device installed on the loop. The address is not polled anymore. During normal operation only in ELC.

Addressable device removed during loop disablement. The panel detects the fault when the loop is enabled again.

If the panel has not been configured: Restart the panel to update the loop database on the MCU Main Controller Unit.

If the panel has not been configured: Restart the panel to update the loop database on the MCU Main Controller Unit.

Two or more Ap (SLC) addressable devices are assigned the same address. The LEDs on affected addressable devices are on.

The sub-address of a multimodule overlaps with the sub-address of another addressable device.

An internal error in an Ap SLC or ELC addressable device. Internal error faults in Esmi Impresia Conventional zone modules can be caused by internal communication issues or power interruptions to the conventional line.

An Ap SLC or ELC addressable device is disconnected and connected to the loop while the loop is powered up.

A sub-address of a multimodule is out of the address range. The maximum number of sub-addresses is 250 for ELC and 159 for SLC.

Contaminated detector

A dirty smoke detector. Smoke detectors have a drift compensation algorithm. When the smoke sensor reading exceeds the compensated limit, the panel indicates this maintenance alert. This maintenance alert can only be reset when the smoke sensor reading drops below the limit.

To find contaminated smoke detectors, log in to access level 3. Navigate to Tests > Report dirty detectors (level 3) and press the Activate the test button. If any detectors have reached their contamination limits, a maintenance alert is displayed.

The cell life of a sensor in a COPTIR detector expires in six months.

A break or short circuit in a conventional sub-loop of a conventional zone module.

Invalid response from device

Invalid response from an addressable device. Invalid responses can, for example, be caused by unstable readings from Ap SLC addressable devices, and SLC beam detectors 6500 in alignment mode.

Values that trigger this fault depend on the type, family/series and manufacturer of the addressable detector.

Device type changed while loop was running

An addressable device was replaced during normal operation. The device type or family does not match the configuration.
