Fire Detection Panels

The fire detection panel (FDP) is the control unit of your fire detection system. The panel connects objects in a configuration and allows users to interact with them.

On the panel, users can view and take action on alarms and alerts. Users can also perform other operations, such as running tests and manage access levels.

In a fire detection system, one panel contains the EFO server with the EcoStruxure Fire Operation software. There can be multiple panels, but only one of the panels can act as the EFO server.

Alarms and States

In a fire detection system, there are different types of alarms, faults, maintenances, tests, and disablements. Various causes generate these alarms and changes in device states.

For more information, see Alarms and states .

Requests

In an EcoStruxure Fire Operation setup, requests are used with schedules, Function Blocks, and Script Programs to automatically change state and behaviour of objects such as FDPs, loops, and zones.

For more information, see Requests .

Delays

Delays give the operator the option to acknowledge an alarm and get more time, in order to investigate the cause of the alarm, and reset the alarm if there is not a real fire.

For more information, see Delays .

Day Mode

It is common practice to reduce the risk of false alarms by disabling detectors, or decreasing their sensitivity, in building areas where the normal activities create phenomena that resemble fires.
