License enforcement is the process of checking whether a software application has a valid license available to it at runtime. If you do not have enough licenses, a license violation is displayed in the License Information bar in WorkStation and WebStation.

The first time you add an additional device to the Enterprise Server, other than a field server, in excess of the number of licenses purchased, a license violation is displayed in the License Information bar.
The system information alarm, License Violation, is triggered at the same time as the license violation is displayed.
To get more specific information regarding the licenses, click on Licensing Information.

If a license has expired or is set to expire within 30 days, a license expiration or a license renewal reminder with information on the expiration date is displayed in the Licenses Information bar. To see specific information about your licenses, click Licensing Information.
When you use Demo licenses or Engineering licenses you are notified in the License Information and Enforcement bar.
