The IP-IO module contains a combination of Ethernet and USB communication ports.
This combination includes the following ports:
Two 10/100 Ethernet ports
One USB host port
One USB device port
When both Ethernet ports are enabled, they function as an onboard Ethernet switch. Disabling the second Ethernet port disables the switching function. The switching function enables flexible network topologies. For more information, see Advantages to Using External Bindings . The second port also provides a connection point for a laptop running the Commission mobile application.
The two USB ports are reserved for future use.
