Use the Device Restart function of the eCommission SmartX Controllers mobile application to perform a restart of the SmartX IP controller. There are four different ways to restart the SmartX IP controller.

Restart Type

Description

Warm Start

Perform a Warm Start when you want to reset the controller and want to retain all Warm Start properties and Cold Start properties. Perform a Warm Start to troubleshoot any device malfunctions.

Cold Start

Perform a Cold Start when you want to reset the controller and want to retain all Cold Start properties which excludes Warm Start properties. Perform a Cold Start to troubleshoot any device malfunctions after a Warm Start has not resolved the issue.

Erase Controller Database

Erase the controller database to clear any applications in the controller and before deploying a new application. Erasing the controller database will retain only the network settings, RSTP, and BACnet ID. As a best practice, erase the controller database before deploying a new application to the controller.

Activate IP Changes

Select Activate IP Changes when you have made changes to any of the IP settings in order for the changes to take effect.
