Returning Licenses on EcoStruxure BMS Servers Connected to Internet

You return licenses so that they can be used elsewhere.

You can return licenses from EcoStruxure BMS servers.

This is done, for example, if you for some reasons have assign and activated licenses on a EcoStruxure BMS server that does not need licenses. When the licenses have been returned, they can be activated and assigned on another EcoStruxure BMS server.

When you return licenses, all licenses on the selected server are returned.

Consider the following cases when returning licenses on EcoStruxure BMS servers.

Online

In the online case the EcoStruxure BMS server is connected to the Internet.

Online return on a semi online system

A special case is semi online system where the EcoStruxure BMS server is not connected to Internet, but Devices Administrator is connected to Internet.

Offline

In the offline case the computer that runs Device Administrator and the EcoStruxure BMS servers are not connected to the Internet. Neither the Device Administrator nor the EcoStruxure BMS servers can connect to License Activation Sever.

Use this workflow to return licenses when neither Device Administrator nor the EcoStruxure BMS servers are connected to the Internet.

To return Licenses on EcoStruxure BMS servers connected to Internet

  1. In Device Administrator, click Servers .

  2. Select Show licenses .

  3. Select the field servers where you want to return the licenses.

  4. Click Return .

  5. Click Return licenses online .

  6. Click OK .
