Wire Sizes and Lengths for the MP-V Controllers

This section provides recommendations on wire sizes and lengths for the MP-V controllers.

For more information, see MP-V Models .

The recommendations are for guidance only. Other wire sizes and lengths may be used, depending on wiring rules and when appropriate.

Table: Wire Sizes and Lengths for the MP-V Controllers

Terminals

Minimum Cross-sectional Area

According to local wiring rules e

  1. Use wires rated for at least 90 °C (194 °F).
  2. Digital or counter inputs.
  3. Supervised, voltage, current, resistive, or 2-wire RTD temperature inputs.
  4. Voltage or current outputs.
  5. Confirm the voltage drop from the external load current and the wire resistance (the product of the wire size and length) to obtain the appropriate voltage arriving at the controlled field device (load), to reliably energize and maintain the control action.
