Entitlements, Products, and Licenses

Licenses are bought as products and delivered in Entitlements. An Entitlement is a container that can contain several products. The products contain the licenses and they can differ in quantity and contents.

Field Server Licensing Workflow

Use one of these workflows, depending on if the field servers are connected or not connected to the Internet.

Certificates

It is recommended to use HTTPS for the communication between Device Administrator and field servers when you manage licenses.

Return Licenses on Field Servers

You can return licenses from field servers.

To activate request files to receive response files
  1. In Device Administrator, click Servers .

  2. Select Show Licenses .

  3. Click Activate .

  4. Click Activate request files on License Activation Server (FNO) to receive response files.

  5. Click OK .

  6. In the Select the zip file containing the request files you want to activate box, select the request file.

  7. Enter the password for the request file.

  8. In the Select the name and location of the zip file that will contain the response file, select a name and a location for the response file.

    The default location and name of the Response file is the same as the Request file.

  9. Click Activate .

  10. Click Close .
