Device Administrator is used to manage Centralized Licensing on EcoStruxure BMS servers. Centralized Licensing is the main Licensing feature in EcoStruxure Building Operations.
From version 7.0 a new way of licensing is used. Device Administrator is used to handle most of the licenses.
All 7.0 and later EcoStruxure Building Operation BMS servers uses centralized licensing.
All pre 7.0 EcoStruxure Building Operation BMS servers uses the old licensing.
Centralized Licensing Top Server Concept
Central licensing is administered from the top server in the system using Device Administrator. When the top server is added to Device Administrator you can assign and activate all licenses required on your system from Device Administrator.

Multi-version System
A multi-version system uses both the old, pre 7.0 version, licensing system and Centralized Licensing.

Upgrading
In a multi-version system running 7.0 and 6.0 and earlier version you must upgrade License Administrator if you want to use the editors and clients.

After the upgrade to 7.0 you must install new licenses for all other products and features using Device Administrator.
Entitlements, Products, and Licenses
Licenses are bought as products and delivered in Entitlements. An Entitlement is a container that can contain several products. The products contain the licenses and they can differ in quantity and contents.
