Wire Sizes and Lengths for the RP-C 24 V Controller Models

This section provides recommendations on wire sizes and lengths for the RP-C 24 V controller models.

For more information, see RP-C Models .

The recommendations are for guidance only. Other wire sizes and lengths may be used, depending on wiring rules and when appropriate.

  1. Use wires rated for at least 90 °C (194 °F).
  2. Digital or counter inputs.
  3. Only available on RP-C 24 V controller models with “-M” in the product name.
  4. Supervised, voltage, current, resistive, or 2-wire RTD temperature inputs. Models with “-M” in the product name do not support RTDs.
  5. Confirm the voltage drop from the external load current and the wire resistance (the product of the wire size and length) to obtain the appropriate voltage arriving at the controlled field device (load), to reliably energize and maintain the control action.
