You can return licenses from automation servers.
This is done, for example, if you for some reasons have assign and activated licenses on an automation server that does not need licenses. When the licenses have been returned they can be activated and assigned on another automation server.
When you return licenses, all licenses on the selected server are returned.
Consider the following cases when returning licenses on automation servers.
In the online case the computer that runs Device Administrator is connected to the Internet.
For more information, see Returning Licenses on Automation Servers Connected to Internet .
A special case is semi online system where the automation server is not connected to Internet, but Devices Administrator is connected to Internet. A semi online system is treated as an online system for licensing purposes.
For more information, see Semi Online System .
For more information, see Returning Licenses on Automation Servers Connected to Internet .
In the offline case the computer that runs Device Administrator and the automation servers are not connected to the Internet. Neither the Device Administrator nor the automation servers can connect to License Activation Sever (FNO).
Use this workflow to return licenses when neither Device Administrator nor the automation servers are connected to the Internet.
