Adding an Attachment to an Alarm

You add an attachment, for example a .pdf file or a trend log, to assist the user when diagnosing or solving the problem that caused the alarm.

Nota

An alarm attachment is opened in a pop-up window only if the selected workspace contains the Alarm pane. Para mais informações, consulte Workspace Components and Customization .

You can add attachments to alarm objects, except System Information alarms. An attachment is a link pointing to an object in the system. When an alarm that has an attachment is triggered, a paperclip icon is displayed in the Alarms pane and Alarm Views. It is also possible to configure the attachment to display when the alarm is going from Normal to Alarm state.

Um anexo pode também ser: uma mensagem de voz, um relatório, um gráfico de tendência, uma agenda, um ficheiro Microsoft Word, um ficheiro PDF, uma gravação de vídeo ou uma janela pop-up que contém informações sobre o alarme.

Pode adicionar o mesmo anexo ou conjunto de anexos a vários alarmes numa única operação. Também pode apagar os anexos que pertencem a vários alarmes numa única operação. Se adicionar um anexo que já foi anexado a um alarme, o anexo posterior é adicionado como um duplicado.

Pode abrir anexos desde que o programa ou editor associado aos anexos esteja instalado localmente no seu computador. Por exemplo, se o anexo for um ficheiro PDF, pode abrir o ficheiro se o Adobe Reader ou um programa idêntico estiver instalado no seu computador.

To add an attachment to an alarm

  1. In WorkStation, in the System Tree pane, select the alarm you want to configure.

  2. Select the Attachment tab.

  3. Click the Add button

  4. In the Select Object dialog box, browse to the item you want to attach to the alarm.

  5. Click Select .

  6. In the Display on alarm column, check the box
