The eCommission Bluetooth Adapter allows you to establish a Bluetooth connection to MP and RP Series controllers. You plug the Bluetooth Adapter into the corresponding SmartX Sensor to connect to the controller. The Adapter communicates with the SmartX IP controller over the sensor bus using an RS-485 cable. For more information, see Connecting SmartX Sensors to an MP Series Controller .
For more information, see eCommission SmartX Controllers Mobile Application Overview .
You can use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect both RP and MP Series SmartX IP controllers. BLE provides you with the ability to commission SmartX IP controllers before there is an IP network infrastructure configured and also improves on-site commissioning times and productivity. With the RP Series controller, you connect using its onboard BLE or the BLE adapter and the SmartX Sensor. In the MP Series controller, you connect using the eCommission SmartX Controller mobile application BLE adapter through the controller's sensor bus.
For more information, see RP Series Controller Onboard BLE .
The Bluetooth Adapter allows you to establish a Bluetooth connection to MP and RP Series controllers. To connect to a device through the Bluetooth Adapter, a SmartX Sensor must be wired to the controller.
For more information, see Connecting to a Controller with the Bluetooth Adapter .
You change the PIN of the eCommission Adapter for best security practices. The Bluetooth Adapter PIN is engineered to a default code of 333666 and should be changed to a secure code before you perform device commissioning.
