Creating a Daily Report Schedule

You create a daily report schedule when you want the schedule to run on a daily basis at a specified time. For example, you can create a schedule to run every day at noon, every other day at noon, or every three days at noon. You can only schedule dashboard reports.

To specify how often you want a schedule to run, use the Frequency setting in Schedules. You can select the options shown in the table.

Once

The report schedule runs one time using the start date and time you specify.

Set the Frequency to Once. Enter today’s date and 1:00 PM for the Start schedule date and time. The report is scheduled to run today at 1:00 PM.

Daily

The report schedule runs every day, every two days, or any number of days that you specify beginning with the Start schedule date and time.

Set the Frequency to Daily, then select Every 2 Days. Enter today’s date and 1:00 PM for the Start schedule date and time. The report is scheduled to run every other day at 1:00 PM beginning with today’s date.

Weekly

The report schedule runs on the days of the week you specify, every x number of weeks beginning with the Start schedule date and time.

Set the Frequency to Weekly, then select Monday and Friday Every 2 Weeks. Enter today’s date and 1:00 PM for the Start schedule date and time. As of today’s date, the report is scheduled to run on Monday and Friday every other week at 1:00 PM.

Monthly

The report schedule runs on the first day of the month, the last day of the month, or on both the first and last day of the month.

Set the Frequency to Monthly, then select First and Last. Enter today’s date and 1:00 PM for the Start schedule date and time. As of today’s date, the report is scheduled to run on the first and last days of the month at 1:00 PM.

To create a daily report schedule
  1. In WebReports, on the menu bar, click Schedules .

  2. In the Select existing schedule box, select New schedule .

  3. In the Report schedule name box, type a name for the schedule.

  4. In the Schedule description box, type a description for the schedule.

  5. In the Select a dashboard report box, select the dashboard report that you want to schedule.

  6. In the Frequency box, select Daily .

  7. In the Start schedule box, enter the date and time to activate the schedule.

  8. In the Every x Day(s) box, type how often you want the schedule to run. For example, type 1 to run the schedule every day at the time you specified, type 2 to run the schedule every other day at the time you specified.

  9. In the Report output format box, select the file format to be used when the report is generated.

  10. In the Report output destination box, enter the directory path for the report.

    Important:

    The report is written to the specified destination using the System account of the Reports Server. If you plan to save scheduled reports to a network drive, ensure that the System account has write access to the network drive.

  11. Select the Overwrite prior report output box, to keep only the most current copy of the report output.

  12. Clear the Disable schedule box.

  13. Click Save .
