Connecting to Network of BACnet/IP Controllers through WiFi Router

Using a WiFi router containing a DHCP server, you can temporarily set up a WiFi network to wirelessly connect the eCommission SmartX Controllers mobile application to the BACnet/IP controller network.

Download, install, and activate the eCommission application

Download, install, and activate the eCommission application, and accept the end user license agreement.

Power up the controllers

Power up the BACnet/IP controllers.

Start the eCommission application and discover controllers

Start the eCommission application and then discover the BACnet/IP controllers on the network.

To connect to a network of BACnet/IP controllers through the WiFi Router

  1. Configure the DHCP server on the WiFi router as needed, including a suitable IP address range.

  2. Configure the network settings on the mobile device running the eCommission application to connect to the WiFi router.

  3. On the mobile device, enable WiFi and then connect to the wireless network.

  4. In the eCommission application, on the Select Connection view, select the WiFi icon

    to start wireless networking.

  5. In the Device List view, select the BACnet/IP controllers to make the connection.

Using the eCommission application, you can now perform tasks on the connected BACnet/IP controllers as needed.
