AS-P-3 is a one-piece automation server and power supply unit, without terminal bases, for DIN-rail mounting. AS-P-3 is the successor to AS-P. Compared to AS-P, it provides an additional 1 Gbit/s Ethernet port, two fully configurable 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, an additional configurable RS-485 port, two USB 3.0 host ports, and significantly more memory and power. When replacing an AS-P server, the AS-P-3 server can replace both the AS-P server and the PS-24V module, and it matches the combined size of these two devices.
The automation server is a Schneider Electric manufactured embedded device that generally serves as the lowest tier EcoStruxure BMS server within the EcoStruxure BMS. The automation server controls and supervises equipment, typically HVAC equipment. The AS-P-3 server uses Central IO modules with connected field devices, such as sensors and actuators, to do that.
The AS-P-3 server communicates with and provides power to the Central IO modules through the I/O bus. The AS-P-3 server requires an input voltage of either 24 VAC ±20 % or 24 to 30 VDC.
The AS-P-3 server is installed with the Central IO modules on DIN rails in cabinets.

The AS-P-3 server comes in two models that differ only in the support for LonWorks communication and the number of ports available for RS-485 serial communication.
| Model | LON TP/FT Ports | RS-485 Ports |
| AS-P-3 | 0 | 3 |
| AS-P-L-3 | 1 | 2 |
The AS-P-3 and AS-P-L-3 models are hardware only. An AS-P-3 server software package needs to be purchased separately. For more information, see the SpaceLogic Automation Server V3 - Premium Specification Sheet.
The AS-P-3 server has a built-in power supply designed to accommodate a nominal operating voltage of 24 VAC at 50/60 Hz or 24 to 30 VDC input power.

An AS-P-3 server has two types of memory:
2 GB LPDDR4 SDRAM (for program execution)
32 GB eMMC memory (for storage)
Более подробную информацию см. Memory in AS-P-3 Servers .
One of the cornerstones of the EcoStruxure BMS is support for open standards. The AS-P-3 server can natively communicate with open standards such as BACnet (including BACnet/SC), Modbus, and LonWorks.
Более подробную информацию см. AS-P-3 Server Supported Building Standards .
An AS-P-3 server has the following communication ports:
1 Ethernet 10/100/1000 megabit port
2 Ethernet 10/100 megabit ports
3 RS-485 ports (only 2 ports on AS-P-L-3 model)
1 LonWorks TP/FT port (only available on AS-P-L-3 model)
2 USB 3.0 host ports (only one of the ports at a time can use USB 3.0)
1 USB 3.0 device port
1 I/O bus port
Более подробную информацию см. AS-P-3 Server Communication Ports .
The AS-P-3 server models have removable (pluggable) screw terminal blocks on the top of the device. The terminal blocks are easy to install and remove from the device. The terminal blocks are delivered with the device.

There are several LEDs on the front panel of an AS-P-3 server.

There are four different types of reset for the automation servers: warm start, cold start, reset, and reset to DFU mode. Depending on the type of reset, the automation server can be reset using the reset button or a command from WorkStation.

The AS-P-3 servers are designed for installation on DIN rails in a cabinet.

The I/O bus is a common bus that delivers power, address information, and communication to all devices connected to the bus. The term I/O bus also denotes the chain of devices that are connected together.
Более подробную информацию см. I/O Bus .
Each device on the I/O bus can detect its order in the chain of connected devices and assigns itself an address accordingly. This auto-addressing feature is provided by the terminal base backplane of the Central IO modules, the AS-P server, and the PS-24V power supply. The AS-P-3 server differs in that it is a one-piece device, without a terminal base, but the addressing works the same as for the two-piece devices.
Более подробную информацию см. Automatic Device Addressing on the I/O Bus .
Use the power budget to calculate the maximum number of Central IO modules that the AS-P-3 server can supply. If more I/O modules are used, PS-24V power supplies must be added to the I/O bus.
Более подробную информацию см. Power Budget for AS-P-3 Servers .
The wiring recommendations provide guidance regarding wiring of the Central IO modules, automation servers, RP and MP controllers, IP-IO and RP-IO modules, RP controller expansion modules, and Operator Display.
Более подробную информацию см. Wiring .
Before you engineer an AS-P-3 server, install the AS-P-3 server software on the server using Device Administrator. The software is not pre-loaded on the AS-P-3 servers.
Более подробную информацию см. Installing Automation Server Software .
Backup and Restore helps assure that automation server data can be restored to a replacement automation server in the event of detected failure, or to the same automation server in the event of data loss. As a precaution, you back up your automation servers regularly so that you can use the most current backup to restore the automation server data to a replacement automation server. You also configure the new automation server to match the name and the network settings of the replaced automation server so the system can identify this automation server when online.
Более подробную информацию см. Field Server Replacement Using Restore .
You can replace an AS-P server or Automation Server (AS Classic) with an AS-P-3 server using the Convert backup set server type feature in Device Administrator. The replacement process for an AS-P server and Automation Server (AS Classic) follows the same steps.
Более подробную информацию см. Replace Automation Server AS-P or AS (Classic) with Automation Server AS-P-3 Workflow .
This section provides information on regulatory compliance and approvals for the AS-P-3 servers.

All serial communication ports of the AS-P-3 server module refer to signal ground as shown in the figure below.

The AS-P-3 model does not have LonWorks (LON) communication ports.

An AS-P-3 automation server is the leftmost device in the I/O bus of chain devices, which consist of Central IO modules and, if needed, also PS-24V power supplies. An AS-P-3 server has address 2 on the I/O bus. The I/O bus provides the Central IO modules with power and an address. The address on the I/O bus is increased by one for each connected device. The I/O bus also enables RS-485 serial communication between the Central IO modules and the automation server.
